Art, Artists and the Bible

Saturday Excursion

On the 23rd the conference delegates visited two churches in Lampeter. At St Peter’s Church Dr Gordon Bowe discussed the Wilhelmina Geddes window, while at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Lampeter Dr Morgan-Guy introduced the work of the Guild (now) Society of Catholic Artists and Craftsmen, members of which had designed and furnished it.

A short distance away at St Gwenog’s Church, Llanwenog, delegates were able to see the “Arts & Crafts” woodwork of the Belgian refugee artist, Joseph Reubens where the parishioners kindly entertained the conference-goers to a splendid, and most welcome, Tea.
