Tom Devonshire Jones graduated from St John’s College, Oxford in 1958, and trained for the Anglican ministry at Cuddeson. He was ordained in 1960, was from 1970–73 chaplain at Portsmouth Polytechnic, and for many years Vicar of St Mark’s, Regent’s Park in London.
For many years he has been associated with his work for Art & Christianity Enquiry (ACE). The group emerged following an international gathering hosted by Tom Devonshire Jones in 1991, and the ACE Trust was formed in 1994 and works to establish dialogue between religious faith and art.
He has worked as a consultant for commissions and exhibitions including 'Seeing Salvation' at the National Gallery (2000) and 'Presence', the touring exhibition for BibleLands in 2004.
In 2005 he co-authored English Cathedrals and the visual arts with Graham Howes commisioned by the Arts Council of England.
