Chairman of HEFCW visits the project
Professor Sir Roger Williams, formerly Vice-Chancellor of the University of Reading and currently Chairman of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, visited the Project at University of Wales, Lampeter on Wednesday 6th September.
Sir Roger had expressed an interest in the project’s research at a Reception hosted by the Arts & Humanities Research Council at the National Museum, Wales in Cardiff in May of this year, and found time in a busy schedule to follow up that interest during a meeting of HEFCW in Lampeter. Two members of the Project Team, Dr John Morgan-Guy and Martin Crampin, explained to Sir Roger the scope of the research, and the findings in the project’s first year, 2005-06. They showed him a variety of images currently being incorporated into the Database, and demonstrated the scope of the Website. Sir Roger said how much he had been looking forward to this visit since first hearing of the research project earlier in the year.
