Imaging the Bible in Wales
An Interdisciplinary Conference
31 March – 3 April 2008
Aberystwyth

Church of All Saints, Llangorwen
The afternoon session on Wednesday 2 April was spent visiting the churches of Llangorwen and Llanbadarn Fawr. At both sites Dr John Morgan-Guy introduced the churches and discussed the artworks.

Church of All Saints, Llangorwen
Llangorwen is significant as an early Tractarian church, whose altar was the first in stone to be installed in Wales since the Reformation. Llanbadarn Fawr has a history which can be traced back to early medieval Wales, evident in the two early stone crosses on display in the church. The historical exhibition was designed by Peter Lord, who was also present among the delegates.

Also present was Professor Sir Roger Williams, the Head of the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales, who commended the project at the conference dinner which followed.
